In collaboration with the the Food Bank of Iowa and the ADM and Van Meter School District, we offer a weekend BackPack Program for kids during the school year. The programs increases access to easy-to-prepare, single servings of food to school-aged children on weekends when school breakfast and lunch is not offered.

How it works:

1. Every Friday during the 2024-2025 school year, your child will receive a sack filled with kid-friendly foods. For Pre-K-6th graders, a sack of food will discreetly be put in their backpack during the school day on Fridays. Students in 7-12 grades can stop by the school counselor office to pick up a sack.

2. There is no fee for participating in the program. Families are only asked to provide feedback on the program by filling out annual surveys sent home with their child.

3. To sign up, fill out THIS FORM and return it to your students teacher or counselor.
