Families can once again get summer food packs for kids ages pre-K – 12th grade throughout the summer through the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. Free summer food  is available for kids in Adel, DeSoto, Minburn, Van Meter, Linden, Dexter, and Redfield.

The weekly bag of food includes:

7 breakfast items
7 lunches
14 snacks

Bags will be available weekly starting June 2nd at the Food Pantry (215 North 11th Street, Adel) on Mondays and Tuesday from noon until 2:00 pm; and the 4th Monday of each month from 5:00-6:00 pm.

NEW for summer 2025– we will also be open the third Saturday of the month from Noon – 2 pm.

Food bags will also be available at the Adel Farmer’s Market on Tuesday nights from 4:00-7:00 pm.

There are no income guidelines, no questions asked. It is a blessing to us to provide this food to all who want it!
