The increase in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that was available during the pandemic will end April 1.  SNAP was formerly known as the “food stamp program.”  This change will result in less food for families and some seniors in the Good Samaritan Food Pantry (GSFP) service area.  Most households in Dallas County will now see a SNAP benefit of around $230, a DECREASE of $95 a month.

Because of  generous community support, and the recent “Souper Bowl” food drives of various area churches, the food pantry is well stocked to help those who will have less SNAP benefits to spend on food starting April 1.

If you haven’t used our pantry in the past, we welcome you to visit us on Mondays and Tuesdays  from 12 noon to 2 p.m. or the 4th Monday of the month between 5-6 p.m. to receive FREE FOOD.

GSFP has been serving rural Dallas County for 40 years, helping reduce hunger among our neighbors and we are still here ready to help anyone in our service area who is hungry or needing even just a little assistance.  Please call Celia at 515-478-3760 for more information!  We want to serve you as the Good Samaritan did many centuries ago.
